Hello and welcome to the Young Web Designer’s blog. My name is David May and I'm a senior at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ. Less than a year ago I began working in the web design field, and to say the least, I was clueless. I found myself Googling where to find jobs, what to do with clients, how to organize my jobs and other things. Unfortunately, there was no one site I found that supplied this information. In the 6 months since I obtained my first freelance job, I have learned a lot, and I'm still learning everyday. With that in mind, I created "Young Web Designer."
In the coming weeks, I will be sharing a wealth of information for all of you who are interested in getting into the web design field. Whether you’re just getting into the field itself, not knowing where to start looking, or simply want to improve your technical skills, I hope my blog will become your go-to source.
Below is a list of topics I plan on covering in the first few weeks.
- Freelance vs. Working for an Agency
- Why Freelance?
- Working with Clients
- Where to Find Jobs (A Resource Guide)
- The Various Types of Web Design and Developers
Check back over the next few week for regular updates. Also, feel free to suggest topics you would like for me to discuss as this blog is meant to help the readers!
